Emergency Support
What to Do in Case of Emergency
In the event of a serious illness or bodily injury which may lead to inpatient hospital treatment or before any arrangements are made for repatriation you must contact the Emergency Assistance Service on Telephone.
1. Emergency assistance
Contact us immediately by phone to receive assistance or to coordinate a digital doctor service:
Use the emergency number for your country (see table below). The number you should call is listed on your Certificate of Insurance.
📞 Emergency Assistance Numbers
Country Phone Number
Spain +34 910 601 499
Germany +49 800 0009098
Italy +39 800 597 126
Ireland +353 1 233 7743
Malta +353 1 233 7743
Important:
- Assistance is available in multiple languages (English, Spanish, Italian, and German).
- If you have been charged for the call, you can ask for a reimbursement when making the claim.
- Our team can provide advice and suggest which hospital might be most appropriate for you to visit.
2. Go to the hospital
If you require emergency support and you cannot call us, then you should go to the closest hospital. In this type of extreme case, the hospital might directly bill your insurance company. For all other cases, students will need to pay in advance and then ask for a reimbursement via our claims process (see below for details on how to do so).
What to do if you require an emergency prescription
Students can request a video call with a doctor through Digital Doctor by calling the emergency line. Medicine prescriptions for unexpected ailments can be provided through this service.
What to do when you need help, but it's not an emergency
If a student is unwell but doesn’t need to be hospitalised, there is no need to call the emergency line. Instead, the insured person can go to any clinic and then ask for a reimbursement later (see below to learn how to file a claim).
How to make a claim
Please notify us as soon as possible after any bodily injury, serious illness, incident or discovery of loss or damage that may lead to a claim under this policy. Keep copies of all documents sent to us. If you would like to request a reimbursement of expenses you have already paid, then you should contact the Claims Office by one of the following:
- Submit Online: guardme.claimsorted.com. The fastest option is to make a claim 100% online through the website.
- Email: guardme@claimsorted.com
- Phone: Use the emergency number for your country (see table below).
The number you should call is listed on your Certificate of Insurance.
